About us
Liberated Texts is an independent book review website which features works of ongoing relevance that have been forgotten, underappreciated, suppressed or misinterpreted in the cultural mainstream since their release. Although not exclusively, we are interested in texts with anti-colonial, anti-imperialist themes and those related to the history of Marxism, communism and revolution globally.
In addition to our reviews, we have formed a publishing partnership with Ebb Books in order to (re)publish or publish in English for the first time similarly underappreciated texts. The first publication released as part of this collaboration, in July 2022, was an English language translation of Ghassan Kanafani’s On Zionist Literature, originally published in Arabic in 1967. The next, in October 2025, was Sabri Jiryis’ The Foundations of Zionism translated into English from Arabic by the author’s daughter, Fida Jiryis.
“Books differ from all other propaganda media… because one book can significantly change the reader’s attitude and action to an extent unmatched by the impact of any other single medium… [books are] the most important weapons of strategic (long term) propaganda.”
